Tomorrow we leave for Hawaii to play concerts of chamber music, sonatas and new works as part of the Ebb and Flow Arts, Maui!

Concert on August 1st, 5 pm.
This concert begins with a violin duo written by my father Harold Oliver called "ODE ON A GRECIAN URN" and based on the John Keates poem which Mariko Smiley and I commisioned for our duo TANGLED. Next another work comissioned by TANGLED, a wonderful work called "ESCAPMENT" written by Robert Pollock who is the founder and Director of EBB and Flow Arts. Then Jerry Kuderna the bay area pianist will perform "Intermittances" by Elliot Carter. He and I will then join forces for the stormy, driven Bethoveen C minor sonata!
On the second half we perform my violin duo "Interwoven" followed by a solo piano work by Milton Babitt, my fathers composition teacher at Princton. Then the concert concludes with the Martinu Sonata for two violins and Piano!

August 5, 9am Maui Conservatory, Master class, for Piano and Violin by Jerry and I. Should be great fun!

August 7th, 7:30 concert
This concert begins with the Schnittke Praeludium: In Memoriam Dimitri Shostakovich for two violins. A haunting work followed by the Session sonata #3 for solo piano. Then Jerry and I will perform the Ravel sonata for violin and piano followed by a very special work
written for this festival concert by Robert Pollack titled "DRY MARTINI". This is a brand spanking new work, fresh of the press!
The music just arrived two days ago. The piece is composed for two violins and piano four hands so Robert Pollock will join Jerry, Mari and I for this one!

We will have a great time, perhaps even catch some waves. Thanks for checking in. I will let you know how it all goes in hawaii and perhaps add a few clips of the concerts.

Coming next Concerts in Elko Nevada at the Ruby Mountains festival with violist Gerri Walther of the Tackas Quartet and Peter Wyrick, Pianist
David Korrevar, Violinist Amy Haraga and myself.
