Sarn Oliver has performed as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Europe and Asia.  As a young violinist  Mr Oliver was the winner of many competitions and appeared in solo performances with numerous orchestras such as the Dallas Symphony, Sacramento Symphony and the Shreveport Symphony.  He was a featured artist on the PBS television program  gState of the Artsh and his concerts have been broadcast on radio stations throughout the country. Recently, Mr. Oliverfs violin playing has been described by San Francisco Classical Voice as gsimply phenomenal.h His performances can be heard on recordings including his 1991 recording of the Benda and Stamitz Violin Concertos with the Montpellier Chamber Orchestra, Sete France and on the 2002 Fish Creek Music recording of Eric Ewazenfs Quintet for English horn and String Quartet.

Mr. Oliver performs in chamber music festivals and concert series throughout the United States.   He has been a member of The Archduke Trio and The Ansonia Trio in NY, Saint Elvis Trio in Portland OR, and is currently a founding member of the Tilden Trio which performs throughout the country.  Other accomplishments include the creation of the jazz group, the Continuum.  Also a recording engineer and producer,  Sarn Oliver founded SarnWorks Recording Studio in 2007 and is active recording, producing and engineering classical Cds and Film projects.

Sarn Oliver began composing in 2004 and his compositions have received numerous performances and growing recognition.  In 2005 a performance of gTrio Onehhis trio for 2 violins and viola was premiered at The Chamber Music Series at Davies Symphony Hall.   gTrio Oneh was enthusiastically received by the San Francisco Classical Voice, which hailed Mr. Oliver as:han unusually thoughtful and eclectically-minded composer.h He has also received several commissions including a commission from Ebe and Flow Arts, Hawaifi that resulted in performances of his new work for piano trio gTravelsh on Maui and Oahu in July of 2009.  Mr. Oliverfs symphonic work gFairFan Fanfare,h was recently premiered in November of 2009 by Symphony Parnassus at Herbst Hall in San Francisco.  In May of 2009 Sarn Oliver was invited as a composer and violinist to participate in the Europe Asia Festival 2009 in Kazan, Russia where he gave a recital of his own works and  appeared in the Gala concert as soloist. Upcoming performances of his works include a premier of his Violin Sonata  in Northern California and a mainland premier of his new piano trio gTravelsh, in Los Angeles.  Most Recently performances of his works in Tokyo, Japan in May 2010, included his new violin duo piece gInterwovenh written for his newly formed Violin Duo gTangled Duoh established with his with and San Francisco Symphony violinist Mariko Smiley.

Mr. Oliver attended the Juilliard Pre-college studying with Sally Thomas.  Other teachers, include Ronald Neale, Ivan Galamian and Elmar Oliveria.  He received Bachelor's and Master's degrees as a student of Sally Thomas at the Juilliard School 

Sarn Oliver has served as violin faculty at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California and University of California, Davis  as well as University of California, Berkeley.  Mr. Oliver is the former Principal Second Violin of the Sacramento Symphony and Concertmaster of the Santa Cruz Symphony and is currently a First Violinist with the San Francisco Symphony, founding Violinist of Tilden Trio, Tangled Duo and the founder of SarnWorks LLC.
